So, I need[ed] 2k by June 28th...because I needed to pay off my dentist. If I had known that I owed that much in such a short amount of time, I would've planned spending my expenses carefully. But alas, I had just heard of this news last week!

Me: I'm about to ask you a huge favor, so you might want to stop eating and pause the show you're watching...in case you have a heart attack.

Boss: Wait a minute. [takes last bite and pauses her show]

Me: (I go on to explain how much I get paid a month and why I need the 2k...and also that I am borrowing the other 1k from a friend.) So...my question is...can you pay me $1000 in advance and spread the remaining $ three days a week within a month?

Boss: Okay. [without any emotion or any awkward silences...goes back to eating and resumes watching her show]

Me: Okay?! You're actually saying yes to my ridiculous favor?!

Seriously...I was stuttering and sweating profusely. I actually had an idea that I would go grab a bloody mary and come back to ask her. It took me 6 days to work up the courage to ask her and all she said was "okay" like it was no big deal.
